Cost Effective testing

The more effective of the error detection, the greater the saving in development and maintenance cost over the life of the product.

What can we do now?

  • Start to make a risk assessment.
  • Evaluate whether we have appropriate mix between partial and full testing.
  • Talk to developers about areas of the system they are worried about (even if it’s just on a “gut feeling” level).
  • Get developers, testers, and preferably also customers and marketing people together to improve requirement specifications.
  • Evaluate the gain in our organization from doing more (early) verification testing.
