You can't avoid bias, but you can manage it

You can't avoid bias, but you can manage it

You are biased. That causes you to select some tests with greater likelihood than other tests. If there is a long edit field, you are probably more likely to enter something like ..
** 1111111111
than 5765737253

Because it's easier to enter a string of repeated characters than the digits 0-9 in random order. This is simple example of many..

Most testers are biased in favour of testing the most visible functions, whether or not they are important functions.

(Thinks about the situation where you were biased. Also come out of the testing @ regular intervals and check if you are getting biased )

Here are few of them..(Please find out what they are ..)

**** Assimilation bias

**** Confirmation bas

**** Availability bias

**** Primacy bias

**** Recency bias

**** Framing bias

**** Promoinence bias

**** Representativeness bias

You can't avoid bias. They are, to a large extent has hard-wired into our brains. But you can manage them.. Think of ways to manage them...
